What is Gaming?

In our program, improving your English proficiency isn't separate from gaming; the two go hand in hand. We believe that engaging with something you enjoy, like gaming, can make the learning process feel less like a chore and more like a natural extension of your interests. So as you navigate virtual challenges and rack up achievements in the game, you're also honing your English skills—expanding your vocabulary, refining your sentence structure, and gaining conversational fluency. Here, every in-game action serves a dual purpose: it contributes to your gaming success while also advancing your proficiency in the English language. It's an approach that prioritizes genuine engagement over rote memorization, providing a more effective and enjoyable learning experience.

What is the process?


Prior to your lesson: Before your first session, you'll fill out a form on our "Contact Us" page. Here, you'll share some details about yourself, the reason you're learning English, your CEFR level, and your learning goals. This information helps us tailor the lesson to your specific needs, offering you a more personalized and effective learning experience.

Trial lesson: If we determine that you're a good fit for our program, you'll be invited to book a trial lesson. During this session, you'll meet with Kelsey to identify if we can meet your educational needs and establish a customized learning plan. This trial lesson serves as a diagnostic tool, enabling us to further refine the content and teaching methods for your benefit.

Standard lesson: In the regular classes, you'll have the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations, explore new vocabulary, participate in role-playing exercises, among other activities. Feedback on your spoken fluency is provided in real-time, allowing you to instantly correct aspects like pronunciation, rhythm, or intonation. This immediate feedback enhances your learning in multiple ways, from enabling quick adjustments to boosting your confidence and engagement.

FAQs

  • In most instances, to collaborate in a game, a Nintendo Switch, Nintendo membership and ownership of the game will be required. Some games like Minecraft can be played and linked across multiple devices.

    There is also the option to play separate games on separate consoles without playing together and still chat during the session.

  • B2-C2. It is recommended that you have an upper intermediate to advanced level of English. There will be no homework given and it is mostly for practice.
